To accompany the show, Foale and Tuffin - Made in England, the FTM is offering art and craft workshops for children, talks for adults, free tours and sixties fun nights.

The latest exhibition to be mounted at London's Fashion and Textile Museum is entitled Foale and Tuffin – Made in England. The show highlights the work of two of the 1960s' leading designers, Sally Tuffin and Marion Foale, and explores their contribution to the 1960s fashion scene.

To complement the display the FTM is providing a programme of children's art and craft workshops, discussions for adults as well as a sixties fun night out.

Children's Drawing Course – Draw Like a Designer

This is is a drawing course for children aged 10-14 years. Dennis Nothdruft, a curator at the Fashion and Textile Museum, will guide aspiring illustrators and designers.

  • Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th February 2010. 2.30 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. £10 including materials.

Children's Craft Workshop – Pop Frocks

This is a workshop for children aged 6-10 years. The children will create a paper mini-dress and decorate it with sixties themes.

  • Friday 19th February 2010. 2.30 p.m. - 4.00 p.m. £10 including materials.

Discussions for Adults

Foale and Tuffin Unzipped

Marion Foale and Sally Tuffin will talk about their work and the creation of the exhibition Foale and Tuffin – Made in England. They will answer questions such as what inspired them in the 1960s, and where do they get their inspiration today?

  • Friday 20th November 2009. 6.30 p.m. – 8.00 p.m. £12 / £9 concessions. Price includes a glass of wine.

In Conversation With Iain R Webb

To coincide with the exhibition Foale and Tuffin... fashion journalist and lecturer Iain R. Webb has written a new book exploring the work of Marion Foale and Sally Tuffin. Iain will talk about his book, Foale and Tuffin. The Sixties. A decade in fashion. He will talk about how he gathered the information for the book and why the timing of its publication was so appropriate.

Visitors will have the opportunity to buy the book, copies of which will be signed by the author on the night.

  • Friday 4th December 2009. 6.30 p.m. - 8.00 p.m. £12 / £9 concessions. Price includes a glass of wine.

Twist Baby Twist – A Fun Night Out

Two evenings of dance, music and live performances in sixties style provide an insight into how the sixties defined the fashions, music and art of today.

Details of performers will be listed on the FTM website nearer the time.

  • Friday 27th and Saturday 28th November 2009. 7.30 p.m. – 10.30 p.m. £16

Fashion and Textile Museum Curator’s Tour

A member of the FTM's curatorial team will guide visitors on a free tour of the exhibition pointing out the highlights and explaining key pieces.

  • Last Friday of every month (excluding December). 11.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. Free with exhibition ticket.
